number of Democratic Congressional candidate 'likes' minus the number
of Democratic Congressional candidate 'dislikes.'
Affect (feelings) toward the Republican Congressional candidate is the
number of Republican Congressional candidate 'likes' minus the number
of Republican Congressional candidate 'dislikes.'
The Net affect (Pro Dem. - Pro Rep.) toward the Democratic and
Republican Congressional candidates is the difference between two sums:
the sum of Democratic Congressional candidate 'likes' and Republican
Congressional candidate 'dislikes' MINUS the sum of Democratic
Congressional candidate 'dislikes' and Republican Congressional
candidate 'likes.'
Affect (feelings) toward the Incumbent Congressional candidate is the
number of Incumbent Congressional candidate 'likes' minus the number
of Incumbent Congressional candidate 'dislikes.'
Affect (feelings) toward the Challenger Congressional candidate is the
number of Challenger Congressional candidate 'likes' minus the number
of Challenger Congressional candidate 'dislikes.'
