1964:     Individual Voter Records Check (V423-458)


1976:     A vote validation study was conducted during the late summer
          and fall of 1977.  The data are available in the ICPSR
          release:   American National Election Series:  1972, 1974,
          and 1976 (ICPSR 7607, volume V).  There are three major
          components:

          1.   Individual Voter Records Check.  An attempt to validate
               in official records the reported registration status
               and voting behavior in the 1972, 1974 and/or 1976
               post-election surveys (V5001-5073).

          2.   Election Administration Survey.  An interview with
               person(s) responsible for the registration of voters
               and administration of elections in the places where
               survey respondent resided (V5101-5342).

          3.   Election Items Checklist.  The collection of a variety
               of materials pertaining to the voter registration
               process and conduct of elections in each of these
               places (V5401-5417).
