Study Highlights
The ANES 2018 Pilot Study was conducted for the purpose of testing new questions and conducting methodological research to inform the design of the ANES 2020 Time Series study, and to provide public opinion data following the 2018 midterm elections. Much of the content was based on ideas sent by the ANES user community in response to the most recent ANES call for ideas. The 30 minute questionnaire includes questions about voting in 2016, 2018, and in the future, values, attitudes, electoral integrity, democratic norms, harassment and discrimination, and many topical policy issues including immigration, health care, taxes, tariffs and trade, opioid drugs, and gun control.
Additional File
The ANES 2018 Pilot Study Auxiliary Unmatched Data File provides data from an additional 277 unweighted respondents for use in methodological analysis. See the Codebook & User’s Guide for additional information about the sample and the unmatched cases.
