ANES Announcement: 2018 Pilot Study is now available

Dear American National Election Studies (ANES) user community:

The initial release of the 2018 Pilot Study is now available for download from the Data Center on the ANES website. This study was conducted for the purpose of testing new questions and conducting methodological research to inform the design of the ANES 2020 Time Series study, and to provide public opinion data following the 2018 midterm elections in the United States.

Much of the content was based on ideas submitted by the ANES user community.  Included are questions about voting, values, attitudes, electoral integrity, democratic norms, harassment and discrimination, as well as many topical policy issues including immigration, health care, taxes, tariffs and trade, opioid drugs, and gun control. Also available for download is the ANES 2018 Pilot Study Auxiliary Unmatched Data File which provides data from an additional 277 unweighted respondents for use in methodological analysis.

As always, thank you for your support and use of the ANES!
