ANES Announcement: February 2022 Updates

Dear ANES User Community,

We have a number of updates for you:

• The Continuity Guide and Question Search tools have been fully updated with data from the ANES 2020 Time Series Study.
• Two new restricted-use data files from the ANES 2020 Time Study are now available to be applied for from ICPSR. The two entries appear in the ICPSR catalog as ANES Time Series Race, Nationality, Immigration, and Heritage, 2020 and ANES Time Series Income, 2020. For more information about applying for access to these and other ANES restricted-use datasets, please see the Restricted-Use Data page on our website.
• Seven new variables were added to the redacted open-ends dataset on the 2020 Time Series Study page: abortion view self-placement (V201336z), is Bible word of God or men (V201434z), why contacted official (V202035, V202037, V202039, and V202041), and reason did not vote (V202123z).
• An ANES user notified us about problematic distributions for some variables in the media sources (MEDSRC) section of the 2020 Time Series Study. We have investigated the issue, and the error seems to only impact the TVPROGS variables (V201630a to V201632s). For more information, see the Updates & Errata for the 2020 ANES Time Series Study. We will be posting a correction for those variables soon.
